What a day....

Gary decided at noon today that we should hitch up and head on out and take the pontoon too. He called the boys and told them to start packing up the camper. Gary got home at two and started getting the boat ready and realized the battery wasn't good. (Pisser #1) My cell phone at this time is doing something weird and wouldn't stop so I took out the battery for about five minutes, thinking all will be good when I put it back in. Wrong (Pisser #2) The phone wouldn't turn on at all. Ok, we are no longer taking the boat so we are attempting to hitch up the trailer and realize the hitch is jammed. (Pisser #3) So we headed to the place we bought it from and they fixed it. The boys still wanted to go camping so when we got back home we hitched it up and all went well only 2 hours later than we hoped. We managed to get all set up before dark and now are sitting inside, in the boys favorite place, in front of the TV watching 'Zack and Miri make a porno'. So far it is very funny. Or as Brandon says "it's lulzy".

Till tomorrow Happy camping!!!!

The Bighorn

It all started three years ago when some friends bought a camper. They wanted us to start going with them so we decided we would buy a little popup and then just hang out with them. This was all good in theory but the popup we bought was just too small to carry all I wanted to carry. After a few short months of using the little 8x8 box we bought a one that was a little bit bigger. It was very nice and we used it for a few months but with it taking us twice as long as our friends to pack up and set up we decided to look into something a little bigger. This is when we bought Outback Steve. Named after Steve Irwin. It was a nice size camper but over the next two years as the boys kept growing and were no longer fitting in the bunks we started looking for something a little bigger. We went to the camper show and went through all of the fifth wheels. We found one or two we liked but just wasn't sure it was the right thing to do. For two months Gary searched online looking at many different models. We finally found a model that we liked. We were still undecided about getting it. The boys we very persuasive in the process. They really believe they will continue to go with us for years to come. Finally we decided to just go for it. One week later it was being delivered.
The day it was to arrive Brandon drove to school and they called me just before three on their way home. I was a little scared and then I hear Corey on the other end screaming "we're following it". They turned into the neighborhood just behind the camper. They were so excited to be the first ones to see it. We just couldn't wait till we could take it out.
We left the next day to head to Thousand Trails Lake Conroe. The drive went well. We found a spot and set up was a breeze. Everything seemed so perfect. I set the inside and outside up to take my pictures so I could show it off without all our clutter. Luckily most of our clutter has a place to go in this camper. We spent a lot of time admiring it and the rest of the time taking walks. On our walks we stopped to talk to other Bighorn owners about their rigs and to a few friends that were staying there also.
We have lots of plans for the summer all of which include the new camper. We are going to go all the way to California to see Hollywood.

Here are pictures of the Bighorn.
